Bahrain to host the 3rd Asian Youth Games (AYG)!
The countdown is on as Bahrain gears up to host the 3rd Asian Youth Games (AYG) under the esteemed patronage of His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa. This will be Bahrain’s debut, from October 22 to 31, as host of the multi-sport youth event, and excitement is building fast.
The kingdom will welcome more than 4,000 young athletes from 45 countries, making it one of the most anticipated sporting events on the regional calendar. The Executive Committee, led by Deputy Chairman Ahmed Mohammed Abdulghaffar, is pulling out all the stops to ensure a smooth and memorable Games.
The opening ceremony, set for October 22nd at the state-of-the-art Exhibition World Bahrain (EWB) in Sakhir, will make history as the first-ever indoor opening for the AYG — a bold shift from past editions in Singapore (2009) and China (2013).
Organisers promise an unforgettable showcase of Bahraini culture and youth spirit, with performances designed to send a powerful message of unity and ambition from Bahrain to the rest of Asia.
With EWB’s modern facilities and Bahrain’s growing reputation as a host for world-class events, the 3rd AYG is set to celebrate not just sport, but also cultural exchange, friendship, and the limitless potential of Asia’s youth.
